As others have pointed out, it seems like a rush job (never mind the fact that they had 18 months vs 12 for Tiger) but the incredible lack of attention to detail and overthinking of so many basic features is what's really mind blowing. Some of the under the hood improvements are noteworthy but the graphical interface changes are hideous and I know quite a few long time users who are very displeased with this release. Then you wont have to buy new hardware (if you dont want to =) I've noticed that my fans and harddrive are much louder on Vista compared to when I'm booted into ubuntu.
